Term life assurance 'could provide benefits for anyone'

Term life assurance is a policy which could provide benefits to a wide variety of people, it has been suggested.

A spokesperson for Libra Financial Planning explained that everyone from married couples with children to unmarried couples with mortgages could find protection from term life assurance.

"Term assurance is the cheapest way of protecting an individual or a family. The idea is you take out a specific amount of cover over a period of time, be it ten years or 25 years, and you insure yourself for however much you need," he remarked.

"Should you die within that period, the life assurance company will pay up. It is a guaranteed sum of cash. If you don't die, the insurer will keep the premium."

Term life assurance provides cover in the event of death over a fixed period of time.

There was an 18 per cent rise in life assurance business reported by Bright Grey between 2005-06, according to lifesearch.co.uk.
