Brits holidaying at home 'should check insurance policies'

Britons who plan to stay on their home shores this summer rather than jet off abroad have been advised to check that their possessions are covered under their home insurance policies.

Age Concern Insurance Services has highlighted that, as many people opt for home-grown breaks this year, some will inevitably forget to make sure their belongings are protected by insurance.

This is not only imperative for the things they take with them, but also for the things they leave behind, says Joe Young from the organisation.

"We are reminding all holidaymakers to take extra care when taking a break and check that their home insurance policy covers them appropriately, both in and away from the home," he explained.

The insurance provider was established when Help the Aged and Age Concern merged to form a larger foundation aimed at improving conditions and the lives of elderly people in the UK.
