Privilege car insurance braces for claims

Insurance company Privilege is warning January 28th could be an accident hotspot.

This time last year it handled its highest volume of claim calls, with over two and a half times the average number of customers contacting the company.

This was due to severe weather across the UK, and with similar conditions forecast for the next week Privilege is expecting another surge in claims.

As such, it is reminding customers to follow some simple steps when making car insurance claims.

Privilege Insurance managing director, Ian Parker said: "Accidents can occur no matter how safe a driver you are, so it makes sense to have a simple procedure to follow should the worst happen."

He added: "By remembering the key details to take at the scene of the accident, motorists can save time and stress when making a claim during what is a busy time for insurers."

To speed up the claims process, Privilege advises that accident victims gain the names, addresses and telephone numbers of any other drivers involved.

Among other things vehicle registration numbers are required, as is the name of the driver's insurance company and their policy number.

Most importantly, Privilege reminds drivers not to admit it was their fault.
