Brits 'concerned about driving in bad weather'

Adults in the UK are worried about driving during bad weather, according to Saga.

Deteriorating driving conditions are a major worry for many motorists, with up to 48 per cent stating they would consider not driving due to bad weather.

These concerns are higher among female drivers, with 25 per cent saying they prefer not to get behind the wheel during the winter, compared to the eight per cent of men who feel the same.

Andrew Goodsell, executive chairman with the Saga Group, said: "We urge all drivers to check the weather forecast before they venture out and if they're at all worried, to use alternative means of transport."

Consumers that hold their car insurance with Saga have received an increase on their personal belongings cover of up to £2,000 for the month of December, to give added protection to cars that will be packed with gifts at this time of year.
