Zurich Insurance warning for World Cup fans

The research suggests that at least six million people will leave their homes to watch the matches and Zurich Insurance is warning that opportunist burglars could take advantage of the millions of distracted home owners.
Advice from Zurich Insurance is to generally be more security conscious, look into investing in a burglar alarm and be sure to check home contents insurance cover.
Martin Hall, head of home underwriting at Zurich Insurance, says: "We would like to remind homeowners that an empty home can mean rich pickings for thieves – it's worth remembering that not all burglars are football fans; they could be 'on the ball' spotting empty houses."
Zurich Insurance expects millions to leave their homes to go to their local pub or friends houses, while thousands of others will head to Germany and while home contents insurance might not be their main focus, it could prove costly to ignore.
