More Than Insurance: Brits spend £2.5 million on their gardens

More Than Insurance has suggested that garden owners in the UK are now spending more than ever before on things like barbeques and garden heaters.
There seems to be a trend towards taking care of our gardens, as the research shows that four in ten of those questioned by More Than value the look and feel of their garden as much as any other room in their home.
The news comes with a warning though as thieves are also switching on to the trend as one in four of those with a private garden have experienced garden theft or attempted theft in the last two years.
Head of home insurance at More Than, Craig Allen says: "In the last few years we have seen a rise in popularity of garden furniture such as patio heaters and hot tubs, and it seems more and more people are taking pride in their outdoor space".
More Than Insurance makes clear how important it is to cover garden goods on a home contents policy as outdoor heaters and barbeques can cost hundreds of pounds each.
