Co-operative Insurance issues green driving advice

A list of ten top tips on how to become a more environmentally friendly driver has been published by Co-operative Insurance.

With environmental issues influencing a number of governmental decisions, the list is designed to give drivers a more accurate picture of how their cars are affecting the environment.

The list includes suggestions on how to reduce fuel economy, reduce the weight a car is carrying and the company also advises people not to get lost, something which contributes 350,000 tonnes of fuel to annual emission levels in the UK.

David Newman, director of marketing at Co-operative Insurance, commented: "More and more motorists are aware of the effect their car is having on the environment and want to do something about it.

"We have stepped up to the mark and have introduced the UK's first eco motor insurance policy, now it's up to you!"

Co-operative car insurance policies offer introductory discounts and no claims bonuses.
