Direct Line Pet Insurance special offer announced

Direct Line Pet Insurance has announced the launch of a new special offer which will see it selling customers 12 months' worth of veterinary pet insurance cover for the price of ten.

The insurer quoted a report conducted by Mintel, which calculated that the average price of veterinary treatment for a pet is currently around £715.

Direct Line claims its pet insurance can offer pet owners peace of mind at a time when few people have that kind of money to spare.

Chris Price, had of Direct Line Pet Insurance, said: "Sadly many dogs and cats have to be put down every year because owners are cutting back on insurance and then cannot afford to cover the costly vet bills associated with an accident or illness."

Recently, PetPlan advised customers not to economise by stopping their pet insurance premium payments, as it could end up costing them more in the long run.
